Usage of water-based ink and problems needing attention

1. As water-based ink is a pure water-based system, do not mix water-based ink with alcohol based ink and solvent based ink, or add organic solvents to the ink, so as to avoid printing quality problems

2. Ink should be stored indoors at room temperature of 5 ~ 50 ℃

3. When in use, use a mixing rod to mix the ink in the barrel, measure its viscosity and pour it into the ink tank. If the viscosity is too high or too low, it can be adjusted with diluent or thickener

4. Due to the volatilization of water in the printing process, the viscosity of ink will increase and the pH value will decrease. The pH value should be controlled between 8.5 and 9.5. If it is beyond this range, it can be adjusted with pH stabilizer to maintain the stability of viscosity and pH value

5. Generally, ink is very suitable for high-speed printing. If the drying speed is too fast or the printing effect is poor during low-speed printing, a certain proportion of slow drying agent can be added

6. After printing, the remaining ink should be collected back to the corresponding original barrel or the cover of the ink tank should be tightly covered for next reuse. Be careful not to make the ink surface film, thicken or even dry due to the volatilization of water

7. When the ink left on the printing equipment after printing is not completely dry, Malaysia hopes to take effective measures to wash it with clean water. The energy-saving situation in the six high energy consuming industries cannot continue. The ink that is easy to be washed with clean water can be cleaned with detergent

(1) color seed: used to deepen the color. The dosage is 0 ~ 30%, more than 30% will make the content of binder in ink too low, resulting in the decline of adhesion and wear resistance

(2) diluent: it is used to reduce the depth of color, and the amount is not required. The impact performance test is to determine the impact strength limit of the material under the impact load. Adding a large amount of diluent may cause the viscosity of ink to rise slightly. At this time, a small amount of diluent can be added at the same time for adjustment

(3) dilution benefit: used to reduce the viscosity of ink. If the dosage is less than 3%, the color depth of the ink will not be reduced, and the pH value of the ink will remain unchanged

adding more diluents or diluting with high hardness tap water will lead to bubbles. Defoaming agent can be added at the same time. Diluent should be added slowly while stirring to prevent low viscosity

(4) slow drying agent: used to reduce the drying degree of ink, the dosage is 0 ~ 10%

(5) quick drying agent: it is used to accelerate the drying speed of ink, and the dosage is 0 ~ 30%

(6) defoamer: used to eliminate bubbles, the dosage is 1 ‰ ~ 2 ‰

(7) pH stabilizer: it is used to maintain the pH value of ink, and the dosage is appropriate to maintain the pH value of ink at 8.5 ~ 9.5

(8) thickener: used to increase the viscosity of ink, the dosage is 0.5% - 1%

In recent years, with the continuous improvement of environmental protection requirements, many health and environmental protection requirements and constraints have been gradually increased in packaging printing and commercial printing.
